Meta plans to launch an independent application based on artificial intelligence technologies in the second quarter of this year. This step is part of CEO Mark Zuckerberg's strategic goal to make Meta a leading player in the AI market by the end of 2025. The new product will put the company in direct competition with giants like OpenAI and Alphabet.
In addition, Meta intends to introduce a paid subscription for Meta AI, mirroring OpenAI's business model, which charges a monthly fee for access to advanced versions of its ChatGPT program. The separate Meta AI application will complement the company's ecosystem, including Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp.
Initially, Meta AI was introduced as a chatbot in September 2023, and since then, it has become an important part of the company's applications, offering users answers and generating images based on requests. In April 2024, Meta AI was integrated into the company's main platforms, replacing traditional search in Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, and Messenger. Now the launch of a standalone application is the next step in the development of this project and confirms the company's commitment to focusing on advanced artificial intelligence technologies.
